What does the service technician do during the service visit?
The technician will thoroughly clean the unit, change the filters, and run the diagnostics on the system to certify that it is running within the manufacturer’s specifications. He may check pressures, temperatures, voltage, the thermostat, the condensate drain, wiring, fan blades, and cycle the equipment.
Is the Customer Care Program an HVAC warranty?
No, it is not a home warranty contract or an HVAC warranty. This program is an equipment maintenance program. However, program customers receive a discount on any repair parts.
How often will the technician visit my home?
Twice per year…once in the spring and once in the fall.
Can the technician tell me how long my heating/air conditioning system will last?
Not specifically, but he can tell you what the average life expectancy of your system is. When the diagnostics are run, the technician can often tell if the system is getting to the point where it might be wise to replace the unit. For instance, checking the manufacturer’s specifications for electrical usage against your system’s actual electrical usage helps determine if your system is working too hard to heat or cool.
